Long before fossil fuels ignited the Industrial Revolution, the power of water was being harnessed in watermills, where water would be channelled through Races and Gates like these on to and away from the water wheel to generate power for the mill building.

 

Use with Wigmore Watermill (item No. 44-0131) and the Woodland Scenics Water System to complete your watermill scene.

Model details

Bachmann Watermill Race and Gate (part number 44-0142) is a OO scale model measuring 32mm in length, 14mm in width and 14mm in height. It is hand‑painted, fully detailed and supplied ready‑to‑place for railway layouts.

The model was announced in the Winter 2020 British Railway Announcements as part of the new Lucston and Wigmore range of buildings and structures. It is intended to accompany the Wigmore Watermill (44‑0131) and to represent the channel that directs water onto and away from the mill wheel.

The product is supplied as a single, fully decorated component suitable for integration into model railway scenes depicting historic or contemporary water‑mill settings.
