Manufacturer description

Model features:

165 vacuum braked Borails were built to diagrams 1/482 and 1/483 in the late 1950s. The Borails were built with 8' plate bogies and vacuum brakes.

The original use for the Borails was to carry rail or beams. The usefulness of the design (particularly the Borail EC) soon saw them used for other uses including: second hand tractors transported from Cambridge to Fishguard/Holyhead; and ordnance containers/military vehicles to Donnington. The Borails remained as built from 1959 until 1981-2.

Revolution Trains' Borail EB Bauxite Livery twin pack (part number RT‑OO‑BRV‑401) provides a pair of OO gauge (1:76.2) wagons, numbered B946189 and B946192, modelled in British Rail Blue livery as used before the introduction of TOPS.

The wagons are highly detailed, with correct variations in buffers, bogies and brake gear. They ride RP25.110 gauge wheels on 26 mm axles, have a minimum radius of 2nd radius and feature NEM coupler sockets. The set includes two different numbered wagons in a twin pack.

The prototype Borails were vacuum‑braked wagons built to diagrams 1/482 and 1/483 in the late 1950s. A total of 165 units were produced with 8 ft plate bogies, originally intended for carrying rail or beams, but later used for a range of traffic including second‑hand tractors and military ordnance. They remained in service from 1959 until 1981‑82.
