Manufacturer description

This pack contains two IWA timber carrier (Rfnoos) models

160 IWA ferryvans were built by Waggon Union from 1987 and their design incorporated integral one-piece sides and roofs so that each complete half can be lifted and slid over the other, using the distinctive handwheels at each end, for unencumbered loading and unloading.

30 of the Sfins2 vans had the hoods removed and have been converted into timber carriers.

Revolution Trains Touax Blue IWA Rfnoos Timber Wagon Twin Pack

The Twin Pack, part number OO‑Rfnoos‑B, offers a pair of 4 mm (1:76.2 scale) IWA timber carrier (Rfnoos) wagons representing the Initial Privatisation era. Each wagon carries an individual running number and unique decoration; the two packs in the range are numbered distinctly from one another.

The models are based on the 160 IWA ferry vans built by Waggon Union from 1987, which feature integral one‑piece sides and roofs that can be lifted and slid apart using handwheels at each end for easy loading. Thirty of the original Sfins2 vans had their hoods removed and were converted to timber carriers, and this design is reproduced in the kit.

Technical details include NEM standard coupler pockets fitted with NEM narrow tension‑lock couplers, a kinematic close‑coupling mechanism, extra‑fine plastic detail parts and pipes, and blackened RP25.110 profile wheelsets measuring 26 mm over the pinpoints. Revolution Trains acknowledges Touax, the current owner of the wagons, and Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh for providing drawings and access to the real wagons.
