Manufacturer description

This pack contains two IWA timber carrier (Rfnoos) models

160 IWA ferryvans were built by Waggon Union from 1987 and their design incorporated integral one-piece sides and roofs so that each complete half can be lifted and slid over the other, using the distinctive handwheels at each end, for unencumbered loading and unloading.

30 of the Sfins2 vans had the hoods removed and have been converted into timber carriers.

Revolution Trains Touax Blue IWA Rfnoos Timber Wagon Twin Pack – model number OO‑Rfnoos‑A – represents the initial privatisation era of British railway freight wagons.

The pack contains two 4 mm/OO (1:76.2) modelled IWA timber carriers (Rfnoos), each supplied with an individual running number and separate decoration. Both wagons feature NEM standard coupler pockets fitted with NEM narrow tension‑lock couplers, a kinematic close‑coupling mechanism, extra‑fine factory‑fitted plastic parts and pipes, and blackened RP25.110 profile wheelsets measuring 26 mm over the pinpoints.

The original IWA ferry vans were built by Waggon Union from 1987, incorporating integral one‑piece sides and roofs that could be lifted and slid apart via handwheels at each end for easy loading. Of the 160 built, 30 had their hoods removed and were converted into timber carriers. Revolution Trains acknowledges the assistance of Touax, the current owner of the wagons, and Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh for providing detailed drawings and access to the actual wagons.
