History:
The result was the first 4-6-0 design to run in Britain. Sharp Stewart of Glasgow delivered all 15 during 1894. The last was withdrawn in 1940 but the LMS saved pioneer No. 103, which, having worked railtours in the 1960s, is now on display in Glasgow's Riverside Museum.
Rapido's Jones Goods has the usual high specification youâd expect from a Rapido model:

Rapido Highland Railways Jones Goods 4â6â0 Steam Locomotive NoâŻ109, HR Drummond Green II is a limitedâedition model released as part of the âRails of Sheffieldâ range. It is listed as DCC 21, carries the manufacturer part number 914008 and represents the preâgrouping period of British railway history.
The model reproduces the Highland Railway âJones Goodsâ locomotive built in 1894 by Sharp, Stewart & Co. (works number 4028). It is painted in the plain green livery used between 1916 and 1923 and includes details such as a Cumming number plate, the âH.Râ marking on the tender, the locomotive number on the buffer beam, a louvred chimney with a large cap, safetyâvalve lockâups, a tablet catcher and tender doors.
Historical notes note that although the class is commonly called âJones Goodsâ after Chief Engineer David Jones, the idea for the 4â6â0 wheel arrangement came from his chief draughtsman David Anderson Hendrie. All fifteen examples were delivered in 1894; the last was withdrawn in 1940, with NoâŻ103 preserved and now displayed at Glasgowâs Riverside Museum.
Rapidoâs version includes the usual highâspecification features of the brand: fine modelling detail, sprung buffers, a smooth and powerful mechanism, NEM coupler pockets, firebox flicker, a highâquality paint finish and a factoryâfitted sound speaker.
The model is exclusive to the Rails of Sheffield and Locomotion Models ranges and is offered as part of Rapidoâs Railway Icons collection.
