Rails aim to fill the need for niche products, which simply would not justify a large production run. As they are produced in limited quantities, these vans are priced slightly higher than mass produced items, however, we feel the price reflects fantastic value for such distinctive models.
A tremendous amount of research and development has been put into this project to ensure accuracy and true replication has been achieved.
Special commissions are usually only available new from the commissioning organisation, and may well have sold out on pre-order before they even end up listed here! But you may be able to find used items on marketplace or auction websites.

Rails Custom Weathered GWR Iron Mink (Early Condition) Wagon No.58147 is a limited‑edition model produced by Rails of Sheffield. The kit carries the manufacturer part number GWV6‑010W and represents a British Railways early‑crest locomotive in a weathered finish. It is exclusive to the Rails brand and is supplied as a ready‑to‑run (RTR) item.
The model is manufactured in the United Kingdom using cutting‑edge technologies, including an ultra‑high‑resolution, aeronautical‑grade polyurethane with a design life of more than 25 years, and a modern light‑based build process that allows great flexibility for variant production. Production volumes are deliberately low to cater for niche demand, which results in a price that is marginally higher than mass‑produced counterparts but reflects the specialised nature of the item.
A substantial programme of research and development underpins the model, aiming for high accuracy and faithful replication of the original GWR Iron Mink locomotive. The limited‑run approach enables Rails to offer distinctive, high‑quality models that would otherwise be uneconomical to produce.
