VOL02LL Volvo FH Low Loader - Heanor Haulage
This model is in the well-known UK livery of Heanor Haulage. The company's history goes back to 1936 when it started as a coal merchant - Heanor Coal & Haulage, delivering bagged coal for domestic use. During WWII, the Government acquired the firm's vehicles for military purpose. After the War, Jack Searson, demobbed from the Army, bought the dormant company with his brother Ken to form the Heanor Haulage Company. Although sadly, neither Ken nor Jack are with us today, their sons Peter and Ian are carrying on the family tradition, quietly building on their success, with operations as far as field as Saudi Arabia.
Peter - a former motor engineer - also specialises in developing vehicles to his own specification. Known as Heanor Heavy Transport, his modifications include the spacious Volvo sleeper cabs hauling equally ambitions and successful conversions to many basic low loaders. In 1996, the company moved to its present site at Langley Mill in Nottinghamshire.

Oxford Diecast Heanor Haulage Low Loader – 1:76 Scale
Manufacturer part number: VOL02LL. The model depicts a Volvo FH low loader painted in the traditional Heanor Haulage livery. It represents the post‑war rebuilding of the railways.
Heanor Haulage began in 1936 as Heanor Coal & Haulage, supplying bagged coal for domestic use. During the Second World War the company’s vehicles were requisitioned for military service. After the war, Jack Searson, recently demobbed, purchased the dormant business with his brother Ken and renamed it Heanor Haulage Company. Their sons, Peter and Ian, now run the firm, which also undertakes operations in Saudi Arabia.
Peter Searson, a former motor engineer, has expanded the business under the name Heanor Heavy Transport. He develops bespoke Volvo sleeper cabs and has produced a range of low‑loader conversions. Since 1996 the company has been based at Langley Mill, Nottinghamshire.
