The company was originally founded as a common carrier at the turn of the century, and served the local community by hauling goods to and from Northampton by horse drawn trailers. Knights of Old Ltd first used motorised vehicles in 1918 and 'A' licenses were granted for 3 trucks on the inauguration of the Road Traffic Act of 1933. Over the next few years Knights of Old expanded adding warehousing to its operation. Slowly they built an integrated storage & transport solution, which developed into a fully-fledged pick/pack and cross docking operation.

Oxford Diecast Knights of Old Scania – 1:76 Scale is a detailed die‑cast model representing a Scania truck used during the rebuilding of the railways. The model is identified by the manufacturer part number SCA08CS.
The vehicle depicted is typical of the motorised trucks introduced by Knights of Old Ltd in 1918, shortly after the company’s origins as a horse‑driven common carrier at the turn of the century. In the early 1930s the firm obtained ‘A’ licences for three trucks following the Road Traffic Act of 1933.
The model illustrates the type of vehicle that formed part of Knights of Old’s expansion into an integrated storage and transport operation, which later developed into a full pick‑pack and cross‑docking service.
