Stephen Sanderson Transport was founded in 1973 by Stephen Sanderson, the business prospered and it opened its first office in Market Harborough. Further expansion was needed and in 1978 the first depot was created based in East Farndon. Offering a workshop and a small warehouse, the business and fleet was able to grow. In 1983 they purchased property previously owned by Federated Road Transport Ltd. The company of Stephen Sanderson Transport Ltd was formed in February 1987. A further site was purchased in 1988 on the Riverside Industrial estate in Market Harborough where a purpose built depot was developed. By 2000 they were operating over 40 vehicles and employing up to 70 members of staff.
