Manufacturer description

Fagan & Whalley was founded in 1927 in the village of Hapton, situated in the middle of the Lancashire cotton belt. The business has always maintained strong links with the textile industry and it endured the recession of the 1930's, through the war years to the 1950's, to a period when Lancashire cotton was "King". The present proprietors are proud of the fact that the business still remains a family concern since its humble beginnings with a horse and cart. The fleet of vehicles has grown over the years and goes from vans to 44 tonners, the majority of which are Scania powered, handling a variety of goods from car parts to plastics.

Oxford Diecast Fagan & Whalley Scania R420 – 1:76 scale (Manufacturer Part Number: SCA01CS) is a die‑cast model representing the rebuilding of the railways.

The model depicts a Scania R420 lorry in 1:76 scale, produced by Oxford Diecast for collectors and railway enthusiasts. It is intended to complement layouts set in the post‑war period when British freight transport was being modernised.

Fagan & Whalley was founded in 1927 in the village of Hapton, in the heart of Lancashire’s cotton belt. The family‑run business has long served the textile sector and survived the 1930s recession, the war years and the boom of the 1950s when Lancashire cotton was described as “King”. Today the fleet includes a range of vans to 44‑tonne trucks, the majority powered by Scania engines, transporting items from car parts to plastics.
