Stevensons are from Uttoxeter, Spath and started on 11 September 1926. The company was started by John Stevenson, a farmer who at the age of 51 after struggling through difficult times decided to set up as a bus operator. In 1966 following his death, at the age of 91, all his sons and daughters received shares in the business. However only George and John (junior) wanted to continue the business and following a public auction George took control of the business which then expanded. This Oxford model is RM699 a Routemaster originally built for Northern General. The company was sold to the Cowie Group who acquired British Bus in June 1966. It is now called Arriva serving the North Midlands.
