Prototype Era
Era 6 (1967 to 1972) British Rail Blue (Pre-TOPS)

Manufacturer description

Introduced in 1942 for the transport of Sherman tanks, the 50T bogie Warwell wagon continued to see service after the end of the Second World War.

The British Steel Corporation & BR acquired a number and often altered them to carry long loads of rod, rail or bars. Our model will appear with the correct body for this type of traffic.

We have teamed up with Dan at DH Loco Worx & Kyle at TRS Trains to bring this model to life, with a light dusting this brings the model closer to true to life as operations and weather takes its toll.

Oxford Warwell A Steel carrier BB5017 Diamond Bogies Weathered in Wales is a model of a 50T bogie Warwell wagon, produced by Oxford Rail. This model represents a wagon that was introduced in 1942 for transporting Sherman tanks during the Second World War. After the war, the wagons continued to be used for hauling various loads, including long rods, rails, and bars of steel.

The model is finished in a weathered condition, which is a result of the collaboration between Oxford Rail and two other companies, DH Loco Worx and TRS Trains. The weathering effect is achieved with a light dusting, giving the model a more realistic appearance. The model also features a body designed specifically for carrying long loads of rod, rail or bars.

Oxford Rail has partnered with Dan from DH Loco Worx and Kyle from TRS Trains to bring this model to life. The model is part of the British Rail Blue Period, which represents the pre-TOPS era of British Rail.
