Manufacturer description

The Oxford Rail 6 wheel 'Toad' is based on Diagram AA1 6 wheel version

500 of this, the four wheel variant, Diagram AA3 were built between 1889 - 1901.

The Oxford Rail model will show variations between the time that these vehicles were built and later when part of the wood planking had been replaced with steel sheets. (Hence later models are described as plated).

We have teamed up with Dan at DH Loco Worx & Kyle at TRS Trains to bring this model to life, with a light dusting this brings the model closer to true to life as operations and weather takes its toll.

The Oxford Rail Toad 4 Wheel model is a replica of a British Railways Early Crest era vehicle. This particular model is based on the Diagram AA3, a four-wheel variant that was produced between 1889 and 1901. A total of 500 of these vehicles were manufactured during this time period.

The model is designed to reflect the variations that occurred as the vehicles aged, with some parts of the wooden planking being replaced with steel sheets. This change is often referred to as 'plating'. Oxford Rail has collaborated with Dan at DH Loco Worx and Kyle at TRS Trains to bring this model to life. The model features a weathered finish, which is achieved through a light dusting to simulate the effects of wear and tear over time.

The manufacturers have also worked with DH Loco Worx and TRS Trains to create a realistic representation of the model. DH Loco Worx can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/dhlocoworx and on Instagram at @dhlocoworx. TRS Trains is also on Facebook at www.facebook.com/trs.trains and on Instagram at @trs.trains, with their website available at www.trstrains.co.uk.
