Mineral traffic - particularly coal was vitally important to the economy of the UK and the railways specifically. The 6 plank wagon of the LNER incorporated ramped sections on the side doors to allow barrows to be pushed into the wagon easily.
This 6 plank coal wagon is presented in LNER company colours.
