Oxford GER 10‑ton Cattle Van – LNER (pre‑1936) – model reference 626594. The model replicates a Great Eastern Railway livestock van built between 1900 and 1909, identified by the manufacturer part number OR76GEC002B.
Around 800 of the original vans were produced. They were employed to transport cattle and other livestock to and from farms in East Anglia, and photographic evidence shows some units operating as far north as Scotland and as far south‑west as the West Country.
The van is presented as a representative example of the rolling stock used by the Big Four railway companies – LNER, LMS, GWR and SR – during the early twentieth century.
