Oxford Rail Fordson Tractor Rail Shunter (BR)
Fordson Major tractors were popular agricultural tractors produced between 1945 and 1964. Their robust design, powerful engines, and versatility made them suitable for a wide range of applications in farming.
One unique adaptation of the Fordson tractor however was its modification for rail shunting purposes.
These modified farm tractors were far more affordable than purchasing a locomotive while also requiring less training to operate. This made them very suitable for goods yards, dock and factories.
