Manufacturer description

BR Carflat wagons were built between 1959 and 1975.

Motorail was the public service allowing rail users to load their vehicles onto a service train - sit in a standard coach and relax on their journey. The service reduced in popularity as the motorway network expanded and closed in the 1980's.

We have teamed up with Dan at DH Loco Worx & Kyle at TRS Trains to bring this model to life, with a light dusting this brings the model closer to true to life as operations and weather takes its toll.

The Oxford Rail Carflat Motorail wagon model is a weathered representation of a British Rail wagon from the Blue (TOPS) era. This model is part of the Oxford Rail product range.

The Carflat wagon was a type of wagon built by British Rail between 1959 and 1975. Motorail was a public service that allowed passengers to transport their vehicles on a train, with the option to sit in a standard coach during the journey. The service declined in popularity following the expansion and completion of the motorway network in the 1980s.

This model has been weathered to give a more realistic appearance, with a light dusting applied to simulate the effects of operational wear and tear. The model was a collaborative effort between Oxford Rail and two other companies, DH Loco Worx and TRS Trains.

DH Loco Worx is a company that specialises in model locomotives and has a presence on Facebook and Instagram. TRS Trains is another company involved in the model railway industry and can be found on Facebook and Instagram.
