Manufacturer description

James Macauley Snr set up Cadzow in 1957 and his two sons Robert and James Jnr subsequently joined him in the family business, serving primarily public works including earthmoving, demolition and the supply of construction materials. Sadly both James Macauley and Robert died in the 1970's. James Jnr built up the already established company in Blantyre, Lanarkshire, to where it is today - one of the most experienced companies in the transportation of heavy loads, which now extends into the mining and quarrying industry, as well as engineering sectors. Cadzow was voted Scotland's most innovative haulier in 2004. Some of their vast loads include the transport of transformers, overhead crane bearns, pipe gantries and excavators.

Oxford Diecast Cadzow DAF 105 Low Loader – 1:76 Scale is a die‑cast model of a low‑loader vehicle used by Cadzow for heavy‑load transportation. The model carries the manufacturer part number DAF02LL and depicts the vehicle as it would have appeared during the period of railway rebuilding.

The model represents a DAF 105 low‑loader in 1:76 (OO) scale, designed to illustrate the type of equipment employed by Cadzow in the transport of oversized loads such as transformers, overhead‑crane beams, pipe gantries and excavators. The vehicle is shown in a realistic livery appropriate to the era.

Cadzow was established in 1957 by James Macauley Snr, with his sons Robert and James Jnr later joining the family firm. The company, based in Blantyre, Lanarkshire, expanded from public‑works earthmoving and demolition into specialised heavy‑haulage, mining, quarrying and engineering services. Both James Macauley and Robert passed away in the 1970s; James Jnr continued to develop the business. In 2004 Cadzow was voted Scotland’s most innovative haulier.
