The Bedford TK was produced by the Vauxhall-owned Bedford company. It was introduced in 1959 and had a variety of uses, including fire engines, military vehicles, flatbed trucks and other specialist utility vehicles. The letter 'T' stood for 'Truck'. It epitomised the perfect lightweight truck and remained so until the end of the 1970s. Available as a rigid truck as well as a tractor unit, it proved very versatile and its longevity speaks for itself, as it is still used in some developing countries even today.

Oxford Diecast Chipperfield Caravan Truck – 1:76 scale model. The item carries the manufacturer part number CH006.
The model represents a Bedford TK chassis finished in British Rail blue livery from the pre‑TOPS era. The Bedford TK, introduced in 1959 by the Vauxhall‑owned Bedford company, served a wide range of roles including fire engines, military vehicles, flatbed trucks and other specialist utility vehicles. The “T” in its designation stood for “Truck”, and the vehicle remained a popular lightweight option throughout the 1960s and 1970s, continuing in limited use in some developing countries today.
The die‑cast replica captures the distinctive shape and detailing of the original truck, making it a suitable addition for collectors of British commercial vehicle models.
