Manufacturer description

This version of the Ford Zephyr 6 was made between 1962 and 1966, during which time over 105,000 were made. The Oxford release, registration BRL 441C, is modelled on the four-door option but Ford also made the car as an estate as well. The Zephyr, which came with either a four or six cylinder engine, was assembled in Dagenham alongside its up-market partner the Ford Zodiac (which was always two-tone and slightly faster) and shared many common components.

Here at Oxford, we have reproduced in miniature the special characteristics of the Ford Zodiac 6. Particularly detailed is the long chrome radiator grille, which also incorporates the headlights. Note too, the silver flash behind the rear passenger window, the printed Zephyr 6 badge on the boot lid and the Zephyr marque printed above the front grille. The wheels have also been given special treatment in line with the original and the authentic Tuscan Yellow colour scheme is in sharp contrast to the black interior and the wealth of chrome and black masking additions that benefit this charming little model.

Oxford Diecast Tuscan Yellow Ford Zephyr – 1:76 scale model.
Manufacturer part number: 76ZEP007.
Period represented: British Rail Blue (pre‑TOPS).

The real Ford Zephyr 6 was produced between 1962 and 1966, with a total output of more than 105 000 units. The Oxford version depicts registration BRL 441C and is based on the four‑door saloon; an estate variant was also offered by Ford. The Zephyr was available with either a four‑ or six‑cylinder engine and was assembled at Dagenham alongside the up‑market Ford Zodiac, with which it shared many components.

The miniature reproduces the distinctive features of the original, including the long chrome radiator grille that incorporates the headlights, the silver flash behind the rear passenger window, the printed Zephyr 6 badge on the boot lid and the Zephyr marquee above the front grille. Wheels are finished to match the period detail, and the model is painted in authentic Tuscan Yellow with a contrasting black interior and extensive chrome and black masking elements.
