Designed by Jaguar/Range Rover's Gerry McGovern, the Velar is the latest model to come from the firm's Solihull plant and epitomises style, sporty image and performance. Its classification of a British compact luxury crossover SUV also includes the fact that it shares components with stable-mates XE, XF, Pace and F Jaguars. The spec of the Velar is equally impressive. If you go for the top of the range V8, it has a top speed of 135 mph, petrol or diesel fuel option and a possible 37 mpg.
