Manufacturer description

Another great classic fire appliance in the Oxford fire series is the Leyland TLM/Metz 104ft Turntable Ladder, registered BOF 389, which is being released as it served in 1935 with the Birmingham Fire Brigade. The Brigade bought it from new for their Central Fire Station and ran it continuously until it went out of service, being sold into preservation in the 1960s. It is quite a colourful piece with the usual red and silver bodywork and black chassis being in sharp contrast to the lovely dark green ladder, printed with Birmingham lettering along its length. The open cab features the authentic interior in black.

Oxford Diecast Birmingham Fire Brigade Leyland TLM – 1:76 Scale

Manufacturer part number 76TLM006 represents the British Railways Early Crest period. The model is a replica of a Leyland TLM/Metz 104‑ft turntable ladder, registered BOF 389, as it appeared in service with the Birmingham Fire Brigade in 1935. It was purchased new for the Brigade’s Central Fire Station, remained in continuous operation until it was withdrawn and later sold into preservation in the 1960s.

The casting showcases the original colour scheme of red and silver bodywork with a black chassis, contrasted by a dark green ladder bearing Birmingham lettering along its length. The open cab features an authentic black interior, replicating the original vehicle’s details.
