The Range Rover 6x4 TACR2, (Tactical Aircraft Crash Rescue) was introduced in 1977 as a successor to the earlier TACR1 based on a Land Rover chassis and was used as a first response crash rescue vehicles to get to the scene of an aircraft incident andrescue the crew before the major fire appliances arrived. Various liveries were applied to these uniquely designed vehicles during their service in which they were equipped with many emergency vehicle features including roof ladders and roof hose reel, side hose detail, roof beacon and spotlight, rear floodlight and front hazard lights.
The bright red colour scheme with silver trim shows the wealth of apparatus off to great effect. With Royal Air Force Fire Service in white printed on each side, the vehicle is registered 31 AG 14.

The TACR2 was introduced in 1977 as a successor to the earlier TACR1, which was based on a Land Rover chassis. It served as a first‑response crash‑rescue vehicle, enabling rapid attendance at aircraft incidents and crew evacuation before larger fire appliances arrived. The vehicle was equipped with a roof ladder, roof hose reel, side hose detailing, roof beacon and spotlight, rear floodlight and front hazard lights.
The period represented by this model is the British Rail Blue (TOPS) era. The die‑cast model provides a detailed replica of the original apparatus, including the distinctive red colour scheme with silver trim.
