Manufacturer description

Another touch of nostalgia from the 1950s comes with the Sunbeam Rapier Mk III which was launched in 1959 with some upgraded features over its predecessors, including modified side grilles, a new registration plate recess and redesigned side flashes. The windscreen pillars were also upgraded to increase visibility and even the interior had a makeover. It appears here in an attractive light green metallic finish with black roof and side flashes, registere4d VKK 266. The interior is also black. Manufactured by the Rootes Group, the Sunbeam Rapier went on in production into the mid 1970s.

Oxford Diecast Sunbeam Rapier MKIII Light Green Metallic – Embassy Black is a model kit identified by the manufacturer part number 76SR007. The vehicle depicted represents a late‑era British Railways livery.

The Sunbeam Rapier MKIII was introduced by the Rootes Group in 1959. Compared with earlier versions it features modified side grilles, a recessed registration plate, redesigned side flashing units and revised windscreen pillars to improve driver visibility. The interior was also updated at launch.

The diecast model is finished in a light‑green metallic body colour with a black roof, black side flashes and a black interior. The registration plate shown on the model reads VKK 266. Production of the real‑world Rapier continued into the mid‑1970s.
