Manufacturer description

The Scammell Pioneer, produced between 1937 and 1945, served extensively throughout WWII as an artillery tractor, as well as being used as a 6 x 4 heavy breakdown vehicle. After the end of the war, the Pioneer proved most useful in civilian life in the roles of heavy haulage, forestry, fairground and recovery, lasting well into the 1980s. Our model is as used by the Royal Artillery (1st Army), who gave it the name 'Boadicea', seen above the windscreen. Decorated in camouflage colours, its military insignia also feature across the back doors

Oxford Diecast Royal Artillery 1st Army Pioneer Artillery Tractor – model 76SP004 is a die‑cast replica of the Scammell Pioneer as used by the Royal Artillery.

The original Scammell Pioneer was built between 1937 and 1945. During the Second World War it acted as a 6x4 artillery tractor and heavy breakdown vehicle. After hostilities ended it found civilian use in heavy haulage, forestry, fairground duties and vehicle recovery, remaining in service into the 1980s.

The model depicts the 1st Army configuration, marked with the name “Boadicea” above the windscreen and finished in camouflage colour. Military insignia are reproduced on the rear doors.
