This is the second release on Oxford’s 1:76 scale S Series Scania, the first also hailing from Scotland.  Now it is the turn of the popular and collectable Pollock Scotrans livery to take to the road in the state of the art Scania, which now features a curtainside trailer as opposed to a fridge.

The Pollock lorries are instantly recognisable on the motorways in the bright turquoise blue, red, white and gold colour scheme and graphics but this one has a high viz effect from the air as well printed with red alphanumeric M522 in the centre of the roof with the M facing the front of the vehicle.  Registered simply E1 PSL, our lorry is full of promotional and ‘how to contact’ graphics from one end to the other but don’t miss one small detailed caption printed right across the tartan riband along the top of the radiator grille reading Scotland Trailblazer England.

Turning to the real thing, the Scania S series cab is the result of a complete makeover both technically and practically, now offering the ultimate in comfort for the long distance driver. Scania describe it as a haven of luxury. It features a flat floor and extended storage, plus reclining seat functions and interior lights. There is improved positioning for the driver, lowered side windows and a large surface area of glass ensuring greater visibility.  The dashboard has also been lowered slightly, giving improved forward visibility. The dashboard display is larger too with improved graphics and intuitive controls.  There is also an improved temperature controlled system for even greater driver comfort.

Scania have refined the exterior of the cab too and our Oxford model captures these new visual improvements including the lowered side windows and larger windscreen already mentioned above. In addition, the cab front, improved roof and enhanced side air deflectors are all aerodynamically designed to reduce fuel consumption.

This latest upmarket addition to the Scania fleet represents a further chapter in the Oxford Scania story.

Oxford Diecast Scania New Generation (S) Curtainside Pollock is a 1:76 scale model released by Oxford Diecast, part number 76SNG002. It represents the rebuilding of the railways period and is the second entry in Oxford’s S Series Scania range, following an earlier Scottish‑themed version.

The model depicts a Pollock Scotrans livery Scania with a curtainside trailer, coloured in bright turquoise blue, red, white and gold. The roof bears a high‑visibility red alphanumeric "M522" code, with the "M" oriented towards the front. The vehicle is registered as "E1 PSL" and is decorated with promotional graphics, including a tartan riband caption reading "Scotland Trailblazer England" across the top of the radiator grille.

The real‑world Scania S‑Series cab is described as a luxury long‑distance vehicle, featuring a flat floor, extended storage, reclining seat functions, interior lighting, lowered side windows, a large windscreen and an enlarged dashboard display with improved graphics. Exterior refinements such as lowered side windows, a larger windscreen, an aerodynamically shaped cab front, roof and side air deflectors are intended to improve visibility and reduce fuel consumption. This model extends the Oxford Scania story with the latest up‑market addition to the fleet.
