Oxford Diecast Hayton Coulthard Centenary Set – 1:76 Scale. Manufacturer part number 76SET45. The models are presented in British Rail Blue livery, representing the pre‑TOPS period.
The set commemorates the Coulthard transport business founded by Peter and Jane Coulthard in Kirkcudbright, south‑west Scotland, in 1916. The company, now operated by descendant Duncan Jnr and his sons James and Murray, runs over one hundred trucks across the United Kingdom from a modern base in Ecclefechan.
The first vehicle is an ERF LV tractor unit with flatbed trailer, registered TMJ 9795K and named ‘Joyce’s Pride’ after Duncan Jnr’s mother. It carries a red colour scheme with a white roof and gold coachlines, reflecting the firm’s affiliation with ERF trucks during the 1970s and 1980s. The second model is a Scania R450 Topline tractor unit with curtainside trailer, registered WU64 BUF and named ‘Fiona’s Pride’. This 2014‑era vehicle is predominantly red and features the distinctive tartan banding introduced by the company in the early 1970s. The third vehicle is a Volvo FH500 Globetrotter XL tractor unit with walking floor trailer, registered WA15 CYL and named ‘Hazel’s Pride’. It also displays red cabwork, a white trailer and the tartan bands, representing one of the latest additions to the fleet.
The collection is supplied in special 100th Anniversary packaging, consisting of a decorated sleeve over an inner presentation box and a legend detailing the history of the Coulthard organisation.
