Manufacturer description

The Scania R 143, part of the 3-series, introduced by Swedish truck manufacturer Scania in 1987 was considered to be the best European tractor unit of its time, built to a conventional, streamline shape with day cab and a series of engine options. It had a reputation amongst truck enthusiasts as a reliable and groundbreaking vehicle.

Here we see the Oxford 1:76 scale version registered M270 OJS from 1994-95 in the popular Scottish livery of Sandy Kydd of Forfar. Their familiar red and white colour scheme was a regular sight on the UK's roads until they ceased trading in 2009. Sandy Kydd had begun his trucking career by driving for Reekie Engineering and then in 1988 set up his own haulage business. Our model truck is promoting his agricultural machinery haulage operation and the rear of the vehicle features a highly detailed and colourful image of one of his typical loads - a tractor. The company's Scottish roots are highlighted with Scottish flags behind the cab window and the word Scotland printed along the rear bumper.
