The city tour bus takes on a complete new meaning with this amazing and highly colourful Routemaster which takes you round the sights of Dublin. The experience includes a unique afternoon tea experience, so you tuck in to a traditional afternoon tea at the same time. The tour guides also offer their enthusiastic rendering of Dublin stories along the way, complete with colourful characters. The trip starts from Stephens Green in the heart of the city and takes in the main sights including the famous Guinness Brewery and the elegant Georgian architecture.
Oxford’s 1960s AEC Routemaster, registered ZV 11165 on route 61, is a near perfect replica of the real-life Vintage Tea Trip double decker and is a printing art form in itself. There are so many delightful characters to look at from all sides. Decorated in a two-tone base colour scheme of a pale blue top and bright yellow lower body, the bus has red brown seating throughout. The front and rear destination blinds detail the website while the one above the platform tells you how to book. The front and rear ‘eyebrows’ invite you to ‘Take tea with jam and bread’ and ‘You’re late for Tea’. The graphics on the side panels are equally inviting, so we might just join the ‘Outrageously Civilised Pandemonia’ promising ‘High Falutin Scrumptious Adventures’. We love it!
