The AEC Regent fire engine were assembled at the Maudsley Motors Coventry Works and the coachwork was built at the Park Royal Coachworks in London. It was the first post war diesel fire engine and had a carrying capacity of 100 gallons of water, with the ability to pump 1000 gallons a minute from its midship pump. It could be operated with either a wheel escape ladder (pump escape) or 35 ft extension ladder (major pump). Like all of the models in this series there is an optional ladder that can be fitted instead of the wheeled escape.

Oxford Diecast AEC Regent Fire Engine West Ham – 1:76 Scale is a model kit identified by Manufacturer Part Number 76REG005. The model represents a vehicle from the British Railways Late Crest period.
The AEC Regent was originally assembled at the Maudsley Motors Coventry Works with coachwork produced by Park Royal Coachworks in London. It was the first post‑war diesel fire engine, capable of carrying 100 gallons of water and delivering up to 1 000 gallons per minute through its mid‑ship pump. The vehicle could be fitted with either a wheel‑escape ladder (pump escape) or a 35 ft extension ladder (major pump); an optional ladder is offered as an alternative to the wheeled escape.
The die‑cast model reproduces these features in 1:76 scale, including the optional ladder option, and is aimed at collectors of historic British emergency vehicles.
