Manufacturer description

The Morris Minor was launched at the London Motor Show in September 1948. Between then and the end of production in 1971, over 1.3 million had been manufactured with several variations including the Morris 1000 van, which became available from 1953 right to the end in 1971/2. They were the favourite small vans for commercial use, the most famous of which was the General Post Office. Technically, they differed from the saloon in that they had a separate chassis, stiffer rear springs and lower ratio differentials to cope with heavier loads.

This livery on our Oxford Morris 1000 van is in plain sandy beige with black chassis, relieved by the colourful Morris Oxford badge in red, blue and silver on the front radiator grille, as well as silver masking to door handles, window surrounds and bumpers. The vehicle is registered RMF 476 and the front and rear lights are highlighted in red and orange.

Oxford Diecast Sandy Beige Morris 1000 Van – 1:76 Scale. Manufacturer part number 76MM057. The model represents the British Rail Blue livery from the pre‑TOPS era.

The Morris Minor was launched at the London Motor Show in September 1948. Between that date and the end of production in 1971, more than 1.3 million units were built, including the Morris 1000 van which was produced from 1953 to 1971/2. The vans were a favourite choice for small commercial work, notably for the General Post Office. Compared with the saloon version, the van has a separate chassis, stiffer rear springs and lower‑ratio differentials to accommodate heavier loads.

The diecast model is finished in a plain sandy beige colour with a black chassis. It features the Morris Oxford badge in red, blue and silver on the front radiator grille, and silver masking on the door handles, window surrounds and bumpers. The vehicle is marked with the registration RMF 476, and the front and rear lights are highlighted in red and orange.

The model is produced in 1:76 scale, typical of OO gauge railway accessories, and is cast in metal with plastic detail parts. It is intended for collectors of British railway and commercial vehicle memorabilia.
