The ZB version of the MG Magnette superseded the MGZA and was launched in 1956. It was more powerful than its predecessor and some bodywork modifications on some of the new models included a wider rear windscreen with a wrap-around curved effect round the edges. The ZB was only produced for two years and latterly, the two-tone variant became available with the bonnet, roof lid painted in a lighter shade than the darker bottom half of the body.

The MGZB (ZB) version of the MG Magnette was introduced in June 1956 as a replacement for the MGZA. It offered higher power and featured bodywork changes, notably a wider rear windscreen with a wrap‑around curved edge. Production lasted only two years, ending in June 1958. In the latter part of the run a two‑tone scheme became available, with the bonnet and roof painted in a lighter shade than the darker lower part of the body.
