Manufacturer description

The seventh release on this very pretty little 2-door sports car from the early 1960s is decorated in a subtle silver grey with red interior and matching tonneau cover. It is registered 207 RAR and with a 1798 cc engine, it was obviously raring to go in its time! Note the chrome bumpers which in real life were sadly replaced by rubber bumpers on models produced from 1974 onwards. The distinctive MG badge sits in the middle of the boot lid and also in the centre of the radiator surround at the edge of the bonnet.

The MG Roadster was the first of the MGB range to be produced as the successor to the MGA. It was a pure two-seater and improvements over the MGA included more passenger and luggage accommodation, softer suspension ensuring a more comfortable ride and a larger engine giving a higher top speed. The Roadster had a four-speed gearbox with an optional overdrive transmission. One of the best loved British sports cars, it is still a firm favourite for proud owners of classic motors.

Oxford Diecast MGB Roadster – Chelsea Grey

Manufacturer part number: 76MGB007. The model represents the period classified as British Rail Blue (Pre‑TOPS).

The die‑cast car is finished in a subtle silver‑grey body with a red interior and a matching tonneau cover. It bears the registration 207 RAR and is shown with a 1798 cc engine. Chrome bumpers are fitted, reflecting the original specification before rubber bumpers were introduced on post‑1974 examples. The MG badge appears on the boot lid and centred on the radiator surround at the edge of the bonnet.

The MG Roadster succeeded the MGA as the first two‑seater in the MGB range. It offered greater passenger and luggage space, a softer suspension for a more comfortable ride, and a larger engine delivering a higher top speed. The car features a four‑speed gearbox with an optional over‑drive unit. It remains a well‑regarded classic British sports car among enthusiasts.
