The Land Rover Discovery 2 was introduced in 1998 as a successor to the original Discovery. A mid-sized luxury SUV that was designed to be both capable off-road and comfortable on-road. It was based on the same platform as the Range Rover, but it was shorter and more affordable.The Discovery 2 had over 700 changes compared to the original Discovery. These changes included a new front end design, a redesigned interior, and a number of mechanical improvements. The Discovery 2 was also the first Land Rover to be offered with a diesel engine that was equipped with common rail fuel injection.It was manufactured up until 2004 , at which time it was sold in over 100 countries around the world. It was then replaced by the Land Rover Discovery 3.This 1:76 scale OO model of the Land Rover Discovery 2 comes in Alveston Red. It i spacked on a plinth, with a clear case lid and and Oxford Automobile wrap.

The die‑cast model reproduces the 1998‑2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 in Alveston Red, scaled to OO (1:76). It is supplied on a plinth within a clear case lid and includes an Oxford Automobile wrap.

The real Discovery 2 was introduced in 1998 as a mid‑sized luxury SUV, based on the Range Rover platform but shorter and more affordable. Over 700 improvements were made over the original Discovery, including a new front‑end design, updated interior and a diesel engine with common‑rail fuel injection. Production continued until 2004, after which it was succeeded by the Discovery 3.
