Manufacturer description

The Oxford Diecast Aquatic Jade Ford Capri MK1 is a must have in your model vehicle collection. This tribute to the classic Capri really looks the part!

In real life, the Capri Mk I was manufactured by Ford Europe and designed by the company's American designer Philip T Clark who had also been involved in the famous American Mustang. The Capri was introduced in 1968 classed as a mid-size sports car/fastback coupé and came with 4-speed manual gearbox. With its sleek lines, the two door car was an instant success and as intended by Ford, it was also affordable by a great many ordinary motorists, including many lady drivers! Assembled at the Halewood plant in the UK, production lasted until 1973, when it was superseded by the Mk II.

Ford introduced the fastback coupé Ford Capri Mk1 into the UK market in 1968 and it really took off in terms of affordability, good looks and performance. It had a four speed manual gearbox and was produced in the UK with either a 1.3L or 1.6L engine.

Registered TDK 200J from 1970/71, our 1:76 scale very bright jade green Ford Capri Mk1 joins its yellow and red predecessors in the series of pure Ford nostalgia. The interior is moulded in a pale stone colour with black steering wheel. Exterior trim is silver, including the silver radiator grille which is 'wiped black'. The wheel inserts too are black.

In real life, the Mk1 was superseded by the Ford Capri Mk2, which is also modelled in the Oxford Diecast range.

This scale model that comes on a plinth, with a case and just over 5cm in length, if you loves Capris - you will love this for collectors and enthusiasts.
