In real life, the Capri Mk I was manufactured by Ford Europe and designed by the company's American designer Philip T Clark who had also been involved in the famous American Mustang. The Capri was introduced in 1968 classed as a mid-size sports car/fastback coupé and came with 4-speed manual gearbox. With its sleek lines, the two door car was an instant success and as intended by Ford, it was also affordable by a great many ordinary motorists, including many lady drivers! Assembled at the Halewood plant in the UK, production lasted until 1973, when it was superseded by the Mk II.
Registered HLP 755K from 1971-72, our model is decorated in one of the most popular colour schemes of the day, bright yellow with black vinyl roof. The interior is also black. Additional external trim is mostly silver - we love the mirrors placed quite a long way down the long bonnet! The racy image is further accentuated by the black lines along the waist of the car before following the line of the rear wheel arches. Authentic wheel trim in black and silver and the black and chrome radiator grille complete the picture.

Oxford Diecast Ford Capri Mk1 Maize Yellow is a die‑cast model bearing the manufacturer part number 76CP001. The model represents a vehicle from the period designated as British Rail Blue (TOPS).
The full‑size Ford Capri Mk I was produced by Ford Europe and designed by American stylist Philip Clark, who also worked on the Mustang. Introduced in 1968, the two‑door fastback coupé was classified as a mid‑size sports car and was fitted with a four‑speed manual gearbox. Assembly took place at the Halewood plant in the United Kingdom and production continued until 1973, when it was replaced by the Mk II.
The die‑cast replica is based on the HLP 755K registration used between 1971 and 1972. It is finished in a bright maize yellow with a black vinyl roof and a black interior. External trim is primarily silver, featuring long‑positioned mirrors, black waist‑line striping, black and silver wheel trim and a black and chrome radiator grille.
