Manufacturer description

This Churchill Mk III Tank is a reminder of the tank's deployment to North Africa between 1941 and 1944. Following the Second Battle of Alamein (Operation Kingforce), a military decision was made to despatch two Army Tank Brigades to Tunisia to support the First Army there.

One of these brigades was the 142 (Suffolk) Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps. They arrived just as one of the major battles for Kasserine Pass was taking place and throughout 1943 were heavily involved against Rommel's forces.

Presented in a two tone dark and lighter green camouflage scheme, the remaining body parts are painted grey, including tracks, cables, suspension springs, rear deck tools and machine guns.

The model is a perfect partner for our tank 76CHT001 which launched the Churchill Mk III series and which commemorated the 'Kingforce' campaign of El Alamein.

Oxford Diecast Churchill Tank 142 RAC Tunisia 1943 is a die‑cast replica of a Churchill Mk III tank, supplied under the manufacturer part number 76CHT003. The model represents the period of British Railways Early Crest.

The tank is depicted in its North African service between 1941 and 1944, following the Second Battle of Alamein (Operation Kingforce). It reflects the deployment of the 142 (Suffolk) Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps, to Tunisia in early 1943, where the unit took part in the fighting around the Kasserine Pass against Rommel’s forces.

The replica is finished in a two‑tone camouflage of dark and lighter green, while the remaining body parts, including tracks, cables, suspension springs, rear deck tools and machine guns, are painted grey. It is intended to complement the earlier model 76CHT001, which commemorates the Kingforce campaign at El Alamein.
