Our 1:76 scale DS19 comes in simple black with contrasting silver trim, all of which enhance its aerodynamic profile. The interior is also black with black front seats but sporting pale grey rear seats. Very smart! Our model is registered RWF 515E from 1967.
The DS19 was a really lovely French car which was introduced in 1955 and became an instant success. Designed by Flaminio Bertoni and launched at the Paris Motor Show, it featured a very attractive shark-nosed aerodynamic body, as well as advanced hydro pneumatic self levelling suspension resulting in the smoothest of rides. It was revolutionary in that it featured front wheel drive, power assisted steering, brakes and clutch – all very ahead of its time. The DS19 was available as a four door saloon, 5-door safari wagon and 2–door convertible. The DS19 continued in production until 1975 and deserves its cult classic status.
