Manufacturer description

The DS19 was manufactured by the French motor company Citroen between 1955 and 1975, during which time nearly 1.5 million were sold worldwide, all but 100,000 being bought by the home market. The DS 19, classed as an executive car, came as a four door saloon, 5-door safari wagon and 2-door convertible. Its unique features included a self-levelling suspension which saw the car visibly rise up when the ignition was switched on. In 1999, a Car of the Century poll recognising the world's most influential auto designs saw the DS 19 come out in 3rd place. Arguably even more deserving was the Classic & Sports Car magazine accolade, citing the DS19 as the world's most beautiful car!

The four door saloon version decorated in delicate pale yellow and silver colour scheme with silver trim. Registered TLE 427, the interior is moulded in a bright mid blue with black dashboard and steering wheel.

Oxford Diecast Citroen DS19 Jonquil Yellow and Silver
Manufacturer Part Number: 76CDS006
Period represented by this model: British Railways Late Crest

The Citroen DS19 was produced by the French automaker Citroen between 1955 and 1975. Nearly 1.5 million examples were sold worldwide, of which around 1.4 million were bought in the domestic market. The model was offered as a four‑door saloon, a five‑door safari wagon and a two‑door convertible, and featured a self‑levelling suspension that caused the body to rise visibly when the ignition was switched on. In a 1999 Car of the Century poll the DS19 was placed third among the world’s most influential automotive designs, and Classic & Sports Car magazine described it as the world’s most beautiful car.

The diecast replica reproduces the four‑door saloon in a delicate jonquil yellow and silver colour scheme with silver trim. The vehicle bears the registration TLE 427 and the interior is moulded in a bright mid‑blue with a black dashboard and steering wheel.
