Manufacturer description

The Coventry Climax Pump Trailers, used ostensibly during WWII, were portable and were towed behind any suitable car or lorry fitted with a hitch. In this way, they were able to get to confined spaces that larger fire appliances could not reach. Many vehicles were especially fitted with a tow hook, so they could be called upon in an emergency to tow the pumps. The pump trailers proved a great asset to fire brigades, especially during the Blitz on many of Britain's cities. Even after the war, the pump trailers found their way onto farms and market gardens, where they were used for irrigation purposes.

Oxford Diecast Green AFS Coventry Climax Pump Trailer – 1:76 Scale

The model, listed under manufacturer part number 76CCP002, represents a Coventry Climax pump trailer from the British Railways Early Crest period. It is produced in a 1:76 scale and finished in the traditional Oxford Diecast green livery.

These pump trailers were designed for portability during the Second World War. They could be towed behind any suitable car or lorry equipped with a hitch, allowing access to confined locations that larger fire appliances could not reach. The trailers were widely used by fire brigades during the Blitz and, after the war, were repurposed on farms and market gardens for irrigation.
