This colourway is one of the more unusual shades associated with the third generation Ford Capri, which made its debut in 1978. Our model of the 3.0S, registered VHK 494S, is from the first year of production of the upgraded Capri, described as a mid-size sports hatchback coupe. It has a black interior and black exterior trim.
The Ford Capri had made great waves when it was first introduced in 1977 when it proved especially popular with the hotrods of the day. The MK III featured not only the previous engine size and transmission features but now had the 3.0S spec including a 4 speed manual gear box or automatic transmission. It also had improved aerodynamics over the Mk I and II, resulting in improved performance and fuel economy. Easily recognised by the quad headlights and black aeroflow grille and sawtooth rear lamp lenses - authentically replicated on our 1:76 model - it was assembled by Ford Europe in their German factories.

Oxford Diecast Ford Capri MKIII Peppermint Sea Green – 1:76 scale model. Manufacturer part number 76CAP009. The model is presented in the unusual Peppermint Sea Green colourway and carries a black interior with black exterior trim. It represents a 3.0S specification Capri, registration VHK 494S, from the first year of the MK III production run.
The model accurately reproduces the third‑generation Capri’s distinctive features: quad headlights, black aeroflow grille, saw‑tooth rear lamp lenses and the 4‑speed manual or automatic gearbox options that were available. All details are scaled to 1:76, matching the original vehicle’s dimensions and styling cues.
The Ford Capri was launched in 1977 and entered its third generation in 1978 as a mid‑size sports hatch‑back coupe. Built by Ford Europe at its German factories, the MK III incorporated larger 3.0‑litre engines, improved aerodynamics and updated suspension, which together offered better performance and fuel economy compared with the earlier Mk I and Mk II models.
