Manufacturer description

Only the RAF would want a Queen Mary trailer this long! Our Bedford OX tractor unit is pulling the trailer, which was in effect a semi-trailer designed for the recovery and transport of aircraft. It was extensively used by both the RAF and the Royal Navy Fleet Arm during and after World War II. The flatbed trailer has open metal-worked sides with a front jockey wheel to attach it to the tractor unit. Painted RAF blue even down to the wheel hubs and with white graphics, the model carries the RAF roundel on the front and back wings but no number plate on this occasion, although the RAF numbering RAF 210749 is painted on the cab doors.

Oxford Diecast Bedford Oxford Queen Mary Trailer RAF Blue is a die-cast model representing a British Railways early crest vehicle. The model carries the manufacturer part number 76BD024. It depicts the period of the Second World War and the immediate post‑war years (1939‑1945).

The model comprises a Bedford OX tractor unit coupled to a Queen Mary semi‑trailer designed for the recovery and transport of aircraft. The trailer features a flatbed with open metal‑worked sides and a front jockey wheel for attachment to the tractor. Both the RAF and the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm employed this combination extensively during and after the war.

The livery is RAF blue, applied to the bodywork and wheel hubs, with white graphics and the RAF roundel on the front and rear wings. The cab doors are marked with the RAF number RAF 210749; no separate number plate is present on the trailer.
