The Bedford vehicle plant was based in Luton in Bedfordshire, from where it produced a wide range of commercial vehicles for both civilian and military use. This Bedford OW was used by the Essex County Fire Brigade and is registered GLY 318.Decorated in a bright red colour scheme with black masking to the rear roof, the model has a black chassis and black masking to mudguards, fine radiator grille mesh and ladder holders. The Brigade lettering is printed in gold with the crest in gold and white out of red on both sides. The front headlights/lenses and the ladder down the back of the vehicle are finished in silver and the roof ladders are moulded brown.
