Based on the military version of the Bedford 'O', which the vehicle manufacturer designated either OY (long wheel base) or OX (short wheel base) and to be used for a wide range of tasks during WWII, including mobile canteens, tankers and general-purpose lorries. This short wheelbase Bedford OX is liveried in a pale blue/pale cream 'camouflage' colour scheme as used as a canteen van by the Food Flying Squad, USA to Britain, under the direction of the Ministry of Food. The roundel on the side says it all 'American Committee for Air Raid Relief to Great Britain' and features the two national flags. On the side doors, two badly bombed cities, which received this food aid, are cited as Liverpool 1941 and London 1941. Registered CCA 823, the lorry proudly carries the title Queen's Messengers Convoy above the front windscreen.

Oxford Diecast Food Flying Squad Bedford OX 30cwt Van – 1:76 scale model. Manufacturer part number 76BD001. The model represents the British Railways early crest period.
The vehicle is a replica of the short‑wheel‑base Bedford OX, a military variant of the Bedford ‘O’ range (designated OY for long wheelbase and OX for short wheelbase). During the Second World War the Bedford O series was employed in numerous roles, including mobile canteens, tanker trucks and general‑purpose lorries.
The die‑cast van is finished in a pale blue/pale cream camouflage colour scheme as used by the Food Flying Squad, a programme that delivered food aid from the United States to Britain under the Ministry of Food. The side roundel bears the legend “American Committee for Air Raid Relief to Great Britain” and the two national flags. Door panels display the names of two heavily bombed cities – Liverpool 1941 and London 1941. The vehicle carries the registration CCA 823 and the inscription “Queen’s Messengers Convoy” above the windscreen.
