It was particularly popular with families and tradespeople who needed a small, affordable, and reliable car. The RN Saloon was also a popular choice for motorcyclists who wanted to upgrade to a four-wheeled vehicle. The RN Saloon was discontinued in 1932, but it was succeeded by the Austin Seven Ruby Saloon, which was a similar car but with a few minor updates. The Austin Seven remained in production until 1939.
