The Matador was essentially an artillery tractor introduced by the Associated Equipment Company (AEC) during WWII. With a length of 20 ft 10 ins, width of 7ft 10 ins and a height of 9 ft 7 ins, the 4 x 4 Matador had an average speed of 30 mph. Shown here as used by the Royal Navy , with RN on the side of the truck.

It represents the AEC Matador, a 4 × 4 artillery tractor introduced by the Associated Equipment Company during the Second World War. The original vehicle measured 20 ft 10 ins in length, 7 ft 10 ins in width and 9 ft 7 ins in height, and could reach an average speed of around 30 mph. In this version the side of the truck bears the Royal Navy designation.
