The GWR 105873 'Mica B' Refrigerated Meat Van was a significant innovation in the early 20th century, utilising a carbonic acid machine to maintain the freshness of perishable goods during long-distance transportation. These vans were primarily used to transport chilled beef carcasses from ports such as Birkenhead to markets in London, including Smithfield.

The model is a replica of the original van, featuring a sturdy exterior and intricate details of the refrigeration system.
