The English Electric GT3 was designed and built in the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows, Cheshire in 1958. After a lot of testing, it was found to be uneconomical to use with the introduction of diesel power. The GT3 had the look of a steam loco with its traditional loco tender configuration. KR Models has captured the essence of the GT3 in this model. It would make an excellent addition to any layout.

KR Models English Electric GT3 4-6-0 Gas Turbine Locomotive in LMS Black Livery is a detailed model of the 1958‑designed GT3, originally built at the Vulcan Foundry in Newton‑le‑Willows, Cheshire. It reproduces the locomotive’s steam‑type tender layout and is finished in LMS Black.

The model includes interior lighting and operates on DCC 21. It is supplied under the manufacturer part number GT3 LMS and represents the British Railways Late Crest period.

A new batch has been announced and is available for pre‑order through Rails of Sheffield, with delivery expected 20 October 2022. Only a limited number are to be released.
