Manufacturer description

New batch announced, pre-order now!

Delivery is expected October 2022

The model is finished in BR Black livery with an early crest

The English Electric GT3 was designed and built in the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows, Cheshire in 1958. After a lot of testing, it was found to be uneconomical to use with the introduction of diesel power. The GT3 had the look of a steam loco with its traditional loco tender configuration. KR Models has captured the essence of the GT3 in this model. It would make an excellent addition to any layout.

Limited amount available through Rails of Sheffield. Pre-order now.

KR Models English Electric GT3 4‑6‑0 gas‑turbine locomotive, finished in British Railways black early‑crest livery. The model carries the manufacturer part number GT3 BRBlack and represents the British Railways Late Crest period. It includes DCC 21 functionality, interior lighting and a 4‑6‑0 wheel arrangement with a traditional tender‑style appearance.

The prototype was built by the Vulcan Foundry in Newton‑le‑Willows, Cheshire, in 1958 and was withdrawn after testing proved it uneconomical compared with emerging diesel power.

A limited production run is available through Rails of Sheffield; pre‑order is now open. Delivery is expected 1 October 2022.

The model is intended as a detail‑accurate addition for railway layouts.
