Grimethorpe Colliery was part of a large and highly productive Coalite facility near Barnsley in South Yorkshire. Coalite was a type of low-temperature coke used as smokeless fuel. Wagons such as these were used on the internal rail system and in coal trains. The colliery closed in 1993 and the Coalite plant closed the following year. 

Each highly detailed scale model in this 21T Hopper Wagon Triple Pack has a different running number: 206, 210 and 640.
